Petryschuk played High School football for Leamington District Secondary School in Leamington, Ontario from which he graduated in 2004. He also played Hockey and Baseball for LDSS.
After the demise of Left Out, Petryschuk started collegiate career at University of Windsor where he was selected as a junior Canadian Interuniversity Sport All-star. He transferred to Wilfrid Laurier University for the 2006 season where he took computer science.
Corey went Undrafted in the 2006 NFL draft, and signed with the Milwaukee Iron that summer. He was converted from the Full Back position he had played for his college and highschool career into a Defensive End. From 2006 to early 2011 he spent most of his time on the practice squad, rarely getting any game time. On January 4, 2011 Corey announced his retirement, citing no play time and obligations to his band as his reasons for retirement.
Petryschuk formerly played the harp-guitar in the Chicago, Illinois Christian Punk band Left Out on their 2002 CD Left Out. They broke up shortly afterwards so Corey was unable to tour with the band, or slow up on further releases. Until recently Petryschuk has put more focus into his football career than his musical career and has not since released any further material,[1] although they have returned to touring.
On January 4, 2011, Petryschuk retired from professional football, to focus more on Left Out and their upcoming new CD.
